History

1992

Founding

On 13. 11. 1992 Karl Huperz (†) took over the Eisenwarenfabrik by Klaus Hilleke (†) and Ludger Weier. H+W Metallverarbeitung GmbH is founded. The first products are stone, anchor and iron screws as well as string spider and various levelling accessories for road construction.

1994

New Product

Our revolutionary filling chamber repair process is launched and is set to become the world’s leading process a few years later.

1997

Continuous growth

The machine park is extensively enlarged and partially automated.

2001

End and beginning

The two business partners separate. The company is renamed “Weier Verbindungstechnik GmbH” and is managed solely by Ludger Weier.

2002

Renewable Energy

The product range is being restructured. The main focus is now on the production of safety-relevant fasteners, particularly for the wind energy sector (supplier for wind turbines).

2003

Certification

Certification of the company due to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.

2004

Euroguss fair

First booth at the Euroguss in Nuremberg. Here our process of “shot sleeve reconditioning” was officially presented.

2005

Audit

Successful audit by ENERCON GmbH.

2006

It will be tight

Planning for our relocation from Lennestadt to Drolshagen is in full swing. Conclusion of a contract in the field of “shot sleeve reconditioning” with the first foreign sales partner.

2007

Everything new

After only 6 months of construction, the move from Lennestadt to Drolshagen, 35 km away, takes place. At the same time, the company’s marketing strategy and appearance were massively changed, accompanied by a new name change to “Weier GmbH”.

2008

High-tech machining

In order to further expand our technological lead in the field of “filling chamber repair”, we now rely on 7-axis welding robots.

2009

Economic crisis …

didn’t stop in front of us. But instead of resigning, we did the opposite. Through targeted marketing and the most elaborate trade fair appearance in our career, we were able to emerge from the crisis positively and stronger than ever.

2011

Fastener Fair

Our first booth for the “Connecting elements” sector at the Fastener Fair in Stuttgart.

2012

Expansion of production

On our premises a 1300sqm2 hall is being built for the area of screw production. Thus, the areas “connection elements” and “filling chamber repair” are also spatially separated from each other.

2015

Introduction of an ERP system

In order to meet our high level of automation in administration, we have introduced a modern ERP system, which enables us to plan, control and monitor all process sequences even more efficiently.

2019

Reconditioning is growing

In order to focus completely on our core business of repair, we discontinue the production of connecting elements at the end of the year. The production area of the repair is enlarged and the processing spectrum of laser welding is expanded, which covers further areas of application.

2020

Document management

We are introducing DocuWare Digital Document Management for better document management. This saves resources and supports our path to even greater sustainability.
